Locations and props

The locations i have selected are; my house, and Broughton Astley’s public footpath near speedwell drive. These locations have been selected as they create a clear contrast of scenery to avoid confusion in the plot of my music video, and also as they represent real life places in which friends will meet up within my target audience to appeal to my key theme of making the music video relatable for the target demographic.
Props:

Clothing will be bright and ‘summery’ in order to allow for a more upbeat appearance to the video, as well as this for filming the following will be used; tripod for filming, xbox console and controllers, bbq and food to go along side, outdoor furniture, firepit, car.

The firepit becomes a hazard so to be able to use this a risk assessment has been conducted and while filming this scene both sand and water will be on hand in order to control the fire should it become more than can be handled while filming, as well as this cold water will be out of shot in case anyone burns themselves.

The vamps music video breakdown

 The music video ‘ somebody with you’ is a pop music video for many reasons, primarily due to its upbeat narrative, which is focussed around the vamps trying to impress a group of girls. However in sections of the music video we see they’re performing on the stage which has been placed on a beach with lighting, and the audience of this is the same group of girls, allowing for the video to follow a narrative and performance music video approach. The whole music video is located around a sunny beach with the vamps playing football and eating at a house on the beachfront and Demi lovato sitting on a car at the entrance to the beach. We see many camera angles, from point of view shots to worm shots from them diving into the sea. Additionally when Demi is in the video there is some screen glare added in editing, maybe to differentiate the music videos performance/narrative approach. Production diary

After submitting the drafts for both my music video and website it had been concluded that the video was not fast paced enough to fit the brief of a fun loving audience, in order to fix this there is exclusively more lip syncing from my artist which allows for previous footage to be cropped down to allow for a faster flowing video. The shots in which lasted around 6 seconds (excluding lip syncing) have been cropped down due to them slowing down the overall pace of the video, this includes the car reversing off the drive heading to the field, as this shot in particular felt it slowed down the video, so has been cropped to a shorter 3 seconds. As well as this some scenes which when looking at the whole video appeared to not really fit in have been removed and this allows for a video that feels more like a stereotypical pop video. The establishing shot in which had a focus issue when panning down has been resolved by cropping it down the the shot start where it was blurry to allow for it
